Revealed: Manchester City’s most likely opponents in the Champions League last-16
Manchester City are most likely to face Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League last-16 in the new year, according to new data this week.
The current holders of Europe’s most prestigious club competition made it six wins from their six group stage games on Wednesday night, as they defeated Serbian side Crvena zvezda in Belgrade via a 2-3 scoreline despite a heavily rotated squad.
Micah Hamilton and Oscar Bobb – both of whom are highly-rated graduates from Manchester City’s youth academy – got on the scoresheet, whilst Kalvin Phillips netted a late penalty to cement the outcome of the game despite late pressure from the hosts.
That result only further solidified Manchester City’s place as group winners having confirmed top spot on matchday five against RB Leipzig, with the draw for the knock-out stages scheduled to take place early next week.
