Manchester City’s Phil Foden has revealed the ambitious season target himself and Jack Grealish have set for the new campaign.

Pep Guardiola’s side are bidding to improve on last season’s historic treble-winning campaign, where Manchester City won the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and Emirates FA Cup.

The Sky Blues’ maiden Champions League success came alongside a third successive Premier League title, with Manchester City now seeking to retain their crown for a record-breaking, fourth consecutive season.

Manchester City will also be looking to win another Champions League, with the final this season taking place at Wembley Stadium – a destination the Cityzen’s have enjoyed playing at under Guardiola.

Phil Foden and Jack Grealish, who both played crucial roles in Manchester City’s silverware successes last season, also lifted the UEFA Super Cup last month, after a penalty shoot-out win against Sevilla in Athens.

The treble-winners have made an impressive start to their Premier League campaign, winning all of their opening four matches, including an emphatic 5-1 win over Fulham at the Etihad Stadium last weekend.

With new campaign underway, Phil Foden has revealed during an interview with Sky Sports, that himself and Jack Grealish have set an ambitious new target for the season.

“I remember speaking to Jack Grealish after the Champions League final. We looked at each other and thought, ‘How are we going to get that high again?’ I was almost a bit sad. So we had a little discussion and the only way is to just do it again or do the quadruple.

“That’s the aim now. We have to try and do it again. I know it’s nearly impossible because it’s such a hard thing to do but the lads are craving that now and want to do it again.”

Manchester City begin their European title defence against Red Star Belgrade after the international break, and also face Newcastle United at St James’ Park in the Carabao Cup third round.
