Manchester City will discover their UEFA Champions League Group Stage opponents later this month, as they compete in the competition as holders for the first time.

Pep Guardiola’s side lifted their maiden Champions League trophy back in June, defeating Serie A giants Inter in Istanbul to win the famous European competition as part of a landmark treble in the same season.

Rodri’s 68th minute strike and a series of impressive saves from goalkeeper Ederson secured the Sky Blues’ first ever Champions League success, with Manchester City having overcome both Bayern Munich and Real Madrid en route to the final.

Manchester City will now bid to retain the trophy once again this season, with the Champions League Final being held at Wembley Stadium in London in 2024.

The European football season kicked off with the UEFA Super Cup in Athens earlier this month, with Manchester City beating Sevilla 5-4 on penalties to win the curtain-raising competition for the first time.
