Manchester City completely their tour of Far East Asia on Sunday with a third high-profile friendly clash, against Atlético Madrid.

The match against Diego Simeone’s men follows a jaunt in Japan, as Manchester City registered two wins out of two in pre-season friendlies with Yokohama F Marinos and Bayern Munich.

The most recent of the two matches came against Thomas Tuchel’s side at the Japan National Stadium – a game that attracted the highest attendance at a football fixture played at the arena.

James McAtee gave Manchester City the first-half lead, but despite opportunities for both sides, an equaliser would have to wait until the final 10 minutes when Bayern’s Mathys Tel smashed home from close range.

There would still be time for a last gasp winning goal from the Premier League champions, as Aymeric Laporte combined with Phil Foden to score City’s second and come away from the match with a 1-2 victory.

Before returning to Manchester to complete preparations ahead of the 2023 Community Shield and the commencement of the competitive new season, City take on Atlético Madrid in their final warm-up contest.

As kick-off looms in Seoul, Pep Guardiola and Diego Someone have now confirmed their respective starting line-ups at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
