Bayern Munich stars Leroy Sane and Sadio Mane engaged in a full-time bust-up following their defeat to Manchester City, according to a report from Germany.

Pep Guardiola’s side secured themselves a significant advantage in the first-leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final contest between the two sides, courtesy of goals from Rodri, Bernardo Silva, and Erling Haaland.

In a clash that had initially been billed to be a much more closely fought contest, new details emerging in the aftermath of the City victory have suggested that the real fighting actually took place off the pitch.

In a sensational claim from German media, the former Liverpool and Manchester City wingers Sadio Mane and Leroy Sane engaged in a physical altercation in the dressing room within the Etihad Stadium.

That is according to the information of German newspaper BILD, who claim that a ‘big bust-up’ between Sadio Mané and Leroy Sané took place after the full-time whistle, in an altercation that had initially sparked from an argument on the pitch.

It is claimed that the former Liverpool forward complained about how Leroy Sané had spoken to him on the pitch, before suddenly ‘attacking’ his teammate and hitting him in the face, catching the Germany international’s lip and leaving ‘marks’ on his face.

Further details state that the pair had to be separated by teammates, and in an attempt to calm things down, Leroy Sané was sent out of the dressing room.

BILD claim that the trigger of the argument was an incident in the 83rd minute of the defeat to Manchester City, when Mané had ran into the space for a through ball instead of coming short to receive the ball.

Manchester City and Bayern Munich go head-to-head in the second portion of the last-eight contest next week, as Pep Guardiola and his players travel to the Allianz Arena trying to protect and build on their 3-0 advantage.

Before then however, City will take on Leicester City in a Premier League clash on Saturday evening, as they continue their pursuit of Arsenal at the top of the league table with a six-point difference currently separating the two sides.

However, following a 2-2 draw at Anfield last weekend, Arsenal’s fate in the Premier League title race is now firmly out of their hands, and should Manchester City win all of their remaining fixtures, then they will be crowned champions for a third successive campaign.
