Jack Grealish is in the form of his life at Manchester City, providing yet another goal in a huge game for the club in the weekend’s clash with Liverpool.

The England international has firmly shrugged off his struggles during the earlier stages of his City career, largely since returning to the club following England international duties at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar last winter.

Jack Grealish has been a mainstay in Pep Guardiola’s starting line-ups since that moment, offering goals and assists in crucial matches for the club, including in contests against Manchester United, Arsenal, and now Liverpool.

This week, fellow City teammate Bernardo Silva has been keen to pile on the praise for his colleague, while also admitting to struggling in a very similar fashion to Grealish, and Etihad forward Riyad Mahrez.

“He’s been really, really good. Against Liverpool he was unbelievable,” said Bernardo Silva.

“The first season at City is not easy. For me it wasn’t simple – not easy for Riyad (Mahrez). People just think you’re going to come into one of the best teams in the world and are going to start every game and be the best player every game. It just doesn’t work that way.”

The Portugal international continued, “The manager demands a lot from the players, it’s a different style of play to most of the other teams. You have to get used to it. Sometimes it takes time. When you have tough moments you just have to accept it and keep going.

“Now Jack is doing well and I’m really happy for him – he deserves it.”

Pep Guardiola will be hoping all three of the aforementioned Manchester City stars continue in a rich vein of form, as the club enter what many believe could be a decisive period in their season.

Across the next few weeks, City take on crunch contests in all three of their remaining competitions this season, with a Premier League showdown against Arsenal accompanied by an FA Cup semi-final against Sheffield United, and a Champions League quarter-final meeting with Bayern Munich.

Manchester City have had several days to rest and recuperate this week, as well as put together their plans for the upcoming Premier League encounter with Southampton this weekend – the side that ended City’s hopes of winning the Carabao Cup earlier this season.
