Manchester City discover FA Cup semi-final opponents following completed draw
Manchester City have discovered their opponents for the Emirates FA Cup semi-finals, after the draw was completed on Sunday afternoon.
Pep Guardiola’s side reached the last-four of the competition courtesy of a dominant 6-0 victory over Vincent Kompany’s Burnley on Saturday evening, in a game that featured yet another Erling Haaland hat-trick.
A brace from Julian Alvarez complimented his striking partner’s three-goal haul, while Cole Palmer marked his return to first-team action with a smart finish from close-range to ensure City continue to compete in three different competitions heading into April.
Manchester City have had a largely challenging run to the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley, having drawn Chelsea and Arsenal in consecutive rounds earlier in the competition, before an away trip to Bristol City was followed by a clash against the Championship leaders this weekend.
Following the conclusion of the quarter-final ties, the draw for the Emirates FA Cup semi-finals took place, where Manchester City found out that they would face Sheffield United in the showpiece Wembley semi-finals.
