Manchester City or Bayern Munich will face Real Madrid or Chelsea across two-legs in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, it has been confirmed.

The Premier League champions progressed to the last-eight of the competition for the sixth consecutive season, after dismissing of RB Leipzig in the last round via an 8-1 scoreline and a 7-0 second-leg victory at the Etihad Stadium.

Erling Haaland’s historic five-goal haul for Manchester City was accompanied by fine strikes from Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne – making up for a performance in the first-leg that many onlookers had highlighted as a disappointment.

As for their opponents in the next round of Europe’s premier club competition, Bayern Munich, they progressed via a 3-0 aggregate win over Paris Saint-Germain.

Following the UEFA Champions League quarter-final draw on Friday morning, European football’s governing body have now also completed the draw for the semi-finals of the competition – providing a clear route to a possible Istanbul final for Manchester City.
