Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has outlined five areas for possible personal improvement despite becoming the club’s all-time top goalscorer for a single season on Tuesday evening.

Haaland, who joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in July, scored five goals against RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night to become the leading goalscorer for the club in a single campaign.

The 22 year-olds goalscoring tally moved to 39 for the season in all competitions, as the Norwegian became just the third player to score five goals in a single Champions League match.

Haaland also scored his fifth Manchester City hat-trick of the season to help the Blues secure their place in the quarter-finals of the competition in epic fashion.

City thrashed RB Leipzig 7-0 at the Etihad Stadium, 8-1 on aggregate, with Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne also scoring on Tuesday night.

Haaland scored a hat-trick in the first-half and netted two further goals in the second-half, before being replaced by World Cup winner Julian Alvarez.

The City striker also became the quickest and youngest player to reach 30 Champions League goals on a record-breaking night for the Norway international.

Despite scoring 39 goals in 36 appearances for the Sky Blues, Haaland believes that their is still room for significant improvement, as he outlined five areas he hopes to work on.

“I think I can get better in everything,” admitted the 22 year-old post-match.

“I’ve been missing a lot of chances with my left foot; I had a long ball with the goalkeeper in the first-half that I should have scored.

“So, left foot, right foot, I have to be much better, heading, combining (with teammates), everything.

“But if I have to take one, maybe to help the other players get better, because this is something I would love; to put players in better positions, the attacking midfielders, dropping down, putting them in better positions so they come in the favourite positions they love to come in.”

Haaland is also currently eight goals clear in the race for the Premier League golden boot with 28 goals 26 appearances.
