Manchester City make enquiry over €100M striker – Chelsea, PSG, and Manchester United all interested
Chelsea, PSG, and Manchester United are joined by Manchester City in showing an interest in Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, according to reports.
The 24 year-old has been nothing short of sensational for Napoli this season, playing a significant role in the Naples club securing their place as the current runaway league leaders in Italy’s top-flight.
Across 22 Serie A appearances so far this season, the Nigeria international has scored an impressive 19 goals and provided a further five assists, forming a devastating relationship with those in attack for Napoli.
Luciano Spalletti’s squad hold an 18-point lead at the top of the Serie A table after 26 matches this season, leading the likes of Inter, Lazio, Milan, and Roma at the top of the division.
Unsurprisingly given the success of Napoli so far this season, that should result in them winning the Serie A trophy come the end of the campaign, the Italian side are expected to face a battle to keep the likes of Victor Osimhen, and Manchester City could be one potential suitor.
According to the information of Florian Plettenburg, City have made an enquiry around Napoli’s star striker, despite their current roster of centre-forwards in Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez.
The report claims that the reigning Premier League champions are joined by Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United in the race for Victor Osimhen, with different talks having taken place.
However, it is stated that in regards to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, they are not included in this pursuit of the Nigerian sensation, with a fee in excess of €100 million not being feasible for those within the club.
The development concerning Osimhen may come as a surprise to many Manchester City supporters, not only given their interest in a striker with Haaland and Alvarez in their ranks, but also because of the club’s interest in another statement Napoli forward.
City continue to monitor the performances of Georgian star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in Napoli’s frontline, as Etihad Stadium officials look to inject pace onto the wings of Pep Guardiola’s attack for next season.
However, the feeling in various quarters is that unless astronomical offers are made in the summer months, then Napoli are unlikely to sanction the sales of both of their star forward players during the same transfer window.
