Manchester City striker Erling Haaland had an hilarious response to Sunday’s victory over Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

The 23-year-old scored his 32nd goal of the campaign during Manchester City’s win at the City Ground, marking his return from recent injury issues with a 71st minute goal to secure a vital three points for Pep Guardiola’s side.

The Sky Blues continued their latest Premier League title bid with the 0-2 win, with Josko Gvardiol initially breaking the deadlock in the Midlands with a first-half header from Kevin De Bruyne’s corner.

Manchester City remain in control of their own destiny, with knowledge that four more Premier League wins would secure a fourth successive Premier League title, although Arsenal remain one point ahead in the table following a 2-3 win over Tottenham.

Haaland’s second-half strike was his fifth goal against Nottingham Forest, with the Norwegian having scored a hat-trick against the Midlands club in the Premier League last season.

The striker missed Manchester City’s recent wins over both Chelsea and Brighton, but returned to the bench on Sunday afternoon, with Guardiola having been without duo Phil Foden and Ruben Dias at Nottingham Forest.

Reflecting on scoring his 21st Premier League goal of the campaign, Haaland said post-match: “Three points, get in, shower, think of the next game!

“An important win, that’s the most important. It doesn’t matter how we do it, it’s about winning, and yeah, it’s good to be back.

“We know where they are in the table, so we knew it was going to be a fight. It’s not the easiest pitch to play on, but we can’t complain about these things. It’s about winning a football game, and that’s exactly what we did.”

Haaland and Manchester City are next in action on Saturday evening, hosting Wolves at the Etihad Stadium in the Blues’ penultimate Premier League home match of the campaign.
