Andre Marriner will take charge of Manchester City’s trip to Bristol City in the Emirates FA Cup Fifth on Tuesday night, the Football Association have announced.

The Premier League champions travel to Ashton Gate to face an in-form Bristol City side, with the Blues looking to secure their place in the quarter-finals of the competition with a win.

City have overcome both Chelsea and Arsenal in the previous two rounds, with Nathan Ake’s surprise second half strike proving the difference against Gunners at the Etihad Stadium in the fourth round.

Pep Guardiola’s side have only played top-flight opposition in the domestic cups so far this season, but face Nigel Pearson’s team on Tuesday, with Bristol City unbeaten all competitions since December.

The two teams last played each other in 2018, when City beat Bristol City over two legs in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.

City won 5-3 on aggregate – winning 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium and 3-2 at Ashton Gate.

Ahead of Tuesday’s clash in the Emirates FA Cup, the FA have announced the Match Officials for the tie.

Match Referee

Andre Marriner will take charge of proceedings on Tuesday evening.

The 52 year-old has officiated 15 matches so far this season, showing 50 yellow cards and one red card.

Marriner took charge of Bristol City’s draw over Swansea in October, though hasn’t refereed City since a 4-0 win over Norwich in February last year.

Assistant Referees

Marriner will be accompanied at Ashton Gate by Assistant Referees Adam Nunn and Sam Lewis.

Fourth Official

James Linington has been named as the Fourth Official.

The official will be overseeing conduct within the two dugouts, and the behaviour of managers Nigel Pearson and Pep Guardiola.

NB: VAR will NOT be in operation on Tuesday night.
