Manchester City return to domestic football action this weekend following their draw in Germany in midweek against RB Leipzig.

City resumed their UEFA Champions League campaign with the first-leg of their knock-out round tie against Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig.

As has been the case in recent matches, the first half was dominated by Manchester City, with several chances created and Riyad Mahrez’s strike from outside of the box in the 26th minute giving the visitors the lead at the break.

However, the precision that gave Pep Guardiola’s side the lead in the first half was missing in second, as RB Leipzig applied much greater pressure on City’s defence, which resulted in Josko Gvardiol’s equalising goal in the 70th minute.

Despite Manchester City’s plea for a handball in the dying seconds of the match, both sides would leave Wednesday’s fixture tied on aggregate as the series moves to Manchester for the second-leg.

This weekend sees City travel once more to face Bournemouth, who come into the fixture off the back of a narrow victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers, courtesy of a Marcus Tavernier tap in early into the second half.

The last time the two sides met was in early August in a match that Manchester City came out on top via a 4-0 scoreline following goals from Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, Ilkay Gundogan, and an own-goal from Jefferson Lerma.

Saturday’s match provides City with a chance to regain their footing in the title race with Arsenal, following last week’s blunder against Nottingham Forest – currently sitting two points back from the Gunners.
