Analysts present in the stands of the Etihad Stadium for Wolves on Saturday evening were reportedly left stunned by Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland.

Pep Guardiola and his players moved to within just three successive wins of a fourth Premier League title in a row at the weekend, dismissing of Gary O’Neil’s side with ease through a 5-1 top-flight victory.

Erling Haaland scored a first-half hat-trick to put the game beyond any doubt, striking twice from the penalty spot and heading home from a Rodri cross to ensure that the Premier League title race falls into another week.

Having added to his own personal scoring tally at the weekend with a sublime long-distance strike in the second-half, it has now been revealed that officials from within the Wolves camp were left stunned by the individual performance of the 23-year-old.

That is according to the information of The Mirror’s David McDonnell, who reports that Wolves analysts sat in the stands ‘could only smile ruefully, in awe and admiration’ of Erling Haaland when the Norwegian struck home his fourth goal on Saturday evening.

Despite suggestions of a relatively sub-par season as a whole for the Manchester City striker, Haaland’s four-goal haul at the weekend takes his tally for the ongoing campaign up to 36 goals in 41 appearances, complimented by six assists.

It is also worth pointing out that Haaland has had several moments in the season where he has been ruled out through injury, with a minor foot bone break sustained during the winter period and ruling him out of action for two months.

Pep Guardiola and his coaching staff will be hoping that those issues have been firmly brushed to one side, as Haaland will look to drive his Manchester City teammates to a record-breaking retained domestic double in their remaining four matches across competitions this season.
