Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has been criticised for bizarrely swapping shirts with Crystal Palace’s Daniel Munoz halfway through Saturday’s match at Selhurst Park.

The 23-year-old netted his 30th goal of the campaign during Saturday’s comeback win over Crystal Palace in south London, as Manchester City moved to just one point behind both Arsenal and Liverpool in the Premier League title race.

Pep Guardiola’s side came from behind to win 2-4 at Selhurst Park, as Kevin De Bruyne became the 18th Manchester City player to score 100 goals for the club, with the Belgian netting an emphatic brace.

De Bruyne brilliantly cancelled out Jean-Philippe Mateta’s early goal with a rocketing 11th minute strike, with the 32-year-old securing the victory with a thunderous effort in the second-half.

Rico Lewis and Erling Haaland were also on the scoresheet in the capital, with Manchester City extending their current unbeaten run in all competitions to 25 matches on Saturday afternoon.

Lewis smashed the Sky Blues into a 1-2 lead early into the second-half, meanwhile Haaland scored his 19th Premier League goal of the season in the 66th minute, ending a three-match goal drought.

The Norwegian striker caught the headlines before netting his 30th goal of the campaign however, with Crystal Palace fans angered by a decision for Haaland and Daniel Munoz to swap shirts at half-time at Selhurst Park.

The pair were seen to exchange tops on their way to the tunnel following the conclusion of the first-half, with the scoreline tied at 1-1, and the swapping of match shirts usually taking place at full-time.

The half-time shirt swap was pictured to have been initiated by the Palace player, with Haaland making just his second appearance at Selhurst Park – having scored a crucial penalty during a 1-0 win at Crystal Palace in March 2023.

Haaland has won a series of prestigious individual awards since signing for Manchester City, and the 23-year-old smashed the goalscoring record during his debut campaign in England last season, scoring 52 goals in 53 appearances.
