Manchester City will discover their opponents for the semi-finals of the Emirates FA Cup this weekend, as plans for the next stage of the competition have been confirmed.

Pep Guardiola’s side overcame Eddie Howe’s on Saturday evening, as Manchester City continued their quest to retain last season’s treble by booking their place in the FA Cup semi-finals after a 2-0 win.

City, who had won both Premier League meetings against the Magpies this season, were dumped out of the Carabao Cup at the fourth round stage in September, losing 1-0 at St James’ Park.

The Sky Blues had beaten Huddersfield Town, Tottenham and Luton Town to reach the last-eight of the competition, meanwhile Newcastle overcame Blackburn Rovers in the fifth round to set-up a quarter-final clash at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City cruised a comfortable two-goal win over the Magpies, after a Bernardo Silva first-half brace at the Etihad Stadium.
