Premier League champions Manchester City could look towards Paris Saint-Germain for a potential option to replace Kyle Walker this summer, according to reports.

The England international defender was heavily linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium during the last summer transfer window in light of a Treble success with the club and widespread interest from across Europe.

Bayern Munich became the most likely destination, and despite having agreed terms with officials from the Allianz Arena, Walker remained at Manchester City this season, extending his contract and becoming their new club captain the process.

However, a string of largely convincing and underwhelming performances from the 33-year-old have left some Manchester City fans frustrated, and subsequently urging the club to assess the market for a potential replacement this summer.

That has now seemingly drawn their attentions to Ligue 1 and Paris Saint-Germain, who are at the centre of several transfer discussions at present, specifically amid the expected departure of superstar France international Kylian Mbappe.

According to the information of Sports Zone, as translated and relayed by Get French Football News, Achraf Hakimi is ‘keen’ to leave Paris Saint-Germain amid interest from both Real Madrid and Manchester City.

However, it is claimed that the French club are looking to extend the Moroccan international’s contract having established the player as their first-choice option at right-back and despite his intention to leave in the coming months.

Hakimi’s current contract runs until the summer of 2026, and amid the player’s desire to leave Paris, both Real Madrid and Manchester City are reportedly ‘attentive to his situation’.

Elsewhere and Manchester City could also make a decision on the future of on-loan right-back option Yan Couto, who has been excelling in the Spanish game while at Girona, earning himself a senior Brazil international cap in the process.

The 21-year-old is likely to return to Manchester City this summer for assessment during the pre-season campaign, with Pep Guardiola and his players expected to travel to the United States for preparations ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Joining Couto could be his current Girona teammate Savio, whom Manchester City have secured a deal for from fellow City Football Group side ESTAC Troyes, and are expected to issue a financial outlay in the region of €30 million for the Brazilian winger.
