City Football Academy head coach Glenn van der Kraan has been linked with a potential return to Feyenoord this summer.

Manchester City are bracing for another potential backroom departure, with the club having seen numerous recent exits from multiple departments within the club, including the dramatic decision for Omar Berrada to quit his role at the Etihad Stadium to become Manchester United’s new CEO.

Pep Guardiola also lost first-team assistant Enzo Maresca to Leicester City last summer, with Rodolfo Borrell also leaving the Catalan’s coaching team to become Sporting Director at MLS side Austin FC.

Manchester City’s academy has additionally been subject to recent change, with Joe Shields and Jason Wilcox both leaving senior roles within the City Football Academy set-up.

Etihad chiefs could be set for another exit from the CFA this summer, with Head of Academy Coaching Glenn van der Kraan linked with a potential return to Feyenoord in Holland, as part of the Dutch club’s plans for a summer overhaul.

Sport Witness relays claims that the Eredivisie heavyweights are considering a move for Van der Kraan as a replacement for Feyenoord’s Head of Training Rini Coolen, who is expected to leave the club at the end of the campaign.

Van der Kraan has reportedly been earmarked as a potential replacement candidate in Rotterdam, with the coach having previously left Feyenoord to take up a role at the City Football Academy in 2020.

The Dutchman moved to England nearly four years ago, becoming the CFA’s Head of Coaching as part of an ‘extensive Academy revamp’, according to the Training Ground Guru.

Speaking upon being appointed at Manchester City, Van der Kraan said: “Obviously, I was honoured with the offer from Manchester City, but at the same time had mixed feelings.

“The last 10 years have been an education and we have succeeded in establishing a good foundation for the entire Academy at Feyenoord. I will bring that experience with me to Manchester City. This is a great opportunity I’ll seize with both hands.”
