Confirmed Line-Ups: Yokohama F Marinos vs Manchester City (Pre-Season Friendly)
Manchester City return to on-field action for the first time since capping off a sensational campaign with their first ever Champions League title.
Victory in Istanbul last month ensured that City made history in English football, by becoming only the second club side ever to claim a treble of silverware in a single season, with their European triumph accompanied by Premier League and FA Cup success.
Pep Guardiola’s players have now returned for pre-season training following a number of weeks of holiday after a gruelling campaign, but will be more focussed than ever to ensure that they enter the new campaign in fine form.
Manchester City have travelled to Far East Asia for their preparations ahead of the start of the new season, with three matches scheduled against Yokohama F Marinos, Bayern Munich, and Atletico Madrid in Japan and South Korea.
City embark on the first of those three fixtures on Sunday evening, when they take on fellow City Football Group Yokohama at the Japan National Stadium, with their opposition expected to pose a stern threat to the Sky Blues’ goal.
As Manchester City look to pick up right where they had left off last season, here is how Yokhama manager Kevin Muscat and Pep Guardiola line-up their respective squads!
