Sheikh Mansour – the owner of Manchester City Football Club – has reportedly made a decision over attending the upcoming 2023 Champions League final.

Pep Guardiola and his squad will hope that the meeting with Serie A giants Inter on June 10 is the opportunity for them to secure a historic treble, with an Emirates FA Cup final clash against Manchester United preceding the contest.

City have already secured the Premier League trophy this season, defeating Chelsea 1-0 last Sunday before lifting the English top-flight crown for the third successive season, and for the fifth time in the last six seasons.

The English top-flight champions travel to Brentford on the final day of the Premier League season this Sunday afternoon, before attentions, preparations and fine-tuning can really begin ahead of the two cup finals.

However, in the run-up to those matches and the Champions League final in particular, reports have stated that the key figure behind the success of Manchester City as a football institution will not be present at the very summit of the campaign.

That is according to a new report from Matt Hughes of the Mail, who states that City owner Sheikh Mansour is not planning to attend the club’s UEFA Champions League final against Inter in Istanbul in June.

Mansour has only been to one Manchester City match since buying the club over a decade ago – a contest against Liverpool in 2009/10 at the Etihad Stadium – but has watched met the players and Pep Guardiola on numerous occasions during trips to Abu Dhabi.

City booked their place in the final of this season’s Champions League with an emphatic 5-1 aggregate victory over the current holders Real Madrid, after a 1-1 draw in the Spanish capital was followed up by a staggering 4-0 win in the second-leg in Manchester.

Prior to that, Manchester City also did the double over German opposition, as a thrashing of RB Leipzig in the last-16 was followed up by a 4-1 win over Bayern Munich across two-legs – the second of which came to its conclusion at the Allianz Arena.
