Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain look set to pursue Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva this summer, with the English side now putting a price tag on the player.

The midfield of the reigning Premier League champions could look very different next season, with figures such as Ilkay Gundogan and Kalvin Phillips linked with respective exits from the Etihad Stadium in the summer transfer window.

While the latter continues to be linked with a move elsewhere domestically, the same cannot be said for the German club captain, who is reportedly being eyed up by Barcelona on a free transfer in the coming weeks and months.

Yet, the Catalan club are not just keeping an eye on Gundogan, as they – alongside Paris Saint-Germain – have been watching Bernardo Silva, who is under contract at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2025.

Bernardo Silva has previously been in talks with Camp Nou officials, most recently during last summer’s market, with a deal between the two parties being discussed prior to Etihad officials themselves sanctioning any move.

This however looks set to change as according to Graeme Bailey of 90Min, Manchester City will not stand in the way of the Portuguese international should a move come about and an offer be made at their price tag which is understood to be £75 million.

Any pending move for either of the Cityzens’ midfielders may have to wait however, as the Catalan club in particular have their eyes set on a homecoming for Lionel Messi, who is becoming increasingly likely to leave Parc des Princes this summer.

In the event of Barcelona and Bernardo Silva not being able to reach an agreement over a transfer once again, 90Min report that the Portuguese international will stay put at the Etihad Stadium, with the potential for a new deal not being out of question.

For now, Bernardo Silva’s focus remains very much on winning silverware with his current side this season, as Manchester City continue to compete for a third successive Premier League crown, a first ever Champions League title, and their second FA Cup success under Pep Guardiola.
