Manchester City make first steps towards move for Eintracht Frankfurt star
Representatives of Eintracht Frankfurt star Evan Ndicka have reportedly received contact from Premier League champions Manchester City over their client.
Officials from the Etihad Stadium are gearing up for what is expected to be a very busy transfer window both in terms of arrivals and departures, as Pep Guardiola enters the next two years of his extended Manchester City contract.
In the departures department, one name who could find themselves in consideration for a City exit is Spanish international Aymeric Laporte – who has struggled for game-time during the most part of the ongoing season.
With Pep Guardiola seemingly favouring Manuel Akanji and Ruben Dias as his go-to central defensive partnership this season, Laporte has found himself among the substitutes in significant contests this campaign.
Should the former Athletic Bilbao man make his way through the Manchester City exit door, then the likelihood is that Etihad Stadium bosses will seek a like-for-like replacement in the upcoming summer transfer window.
As such, according to the information of 90Min, Manchester City have now asked the representatives of Eintracht Frankfurt centre-back Evan Ndicka to be kept informed of his plans ahead of his departure from the Bundesliga side this summer.
The 23 year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of this season, meaning he will be free to join another club without a transfer fee, and as such Manchester City have been joined by Liverpool in showing an interest in the Frenchman – according to Sean Walsh and Graeme Bailey.
City are also interested in the talents of RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol – the impressive Croatian centre-back that featured in the Bundesliga side’s 8-1 aggregate defeat to Pep Guardiola’s side in the UEFA Champions League last-16.
Elsewhere, City are likely to look to recruit in midfield, with Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham at the centre of a highly-publicised transfer battle including the Premier League champions, Liverpool, and Real Madrid.
The England international is likely to command a hefty transfer fee, and is more probably to come into view for Manchester City should the likes of Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan leave the Etihad Stadium in the summer.
