Etihad Stadium officials have been handed a £20 million valuation by fellow Premier League side Fulham following enquiries into highly-rated left-back Antonee Robinson, according to a report.

Following the departure of Joao Cancelo to Bayern Munich – confirmed by all parties on Tuesday morning, Manchester City have been linked with a strong interest in recruiting at left-back during the upcoming summer market.

While the aforementioned Portugal international has not left the club on a permanent deal just yet, the Bundesliga giants will have the option to buy Cancelo for €70 million at the end of the season, and the feeling around City is that the player will not be returning to the club.

As such, a number of left-back names have been floated across the internet, while concrete rumours surrounding Manchester City and interest in specific names has been few and far between in the last few weeks.

One name that has been present for a number of months now is Fulham and USA men’s international left-back Antonee Robinson – with the 25 year-old now reportedly subject to initial enquiries from the Premier League champions.

That is according to a new report from The Sun, who state that Manchester City will make a bid for Robinson in the summer, after being quoted £20 million for the Fulham left-back during initial enquiries made prior to Joao Cancelo’s switch to Bayern Munich.

While such enquiries have already taken place, it is further stated that City now plan to step up their efforts to sign the defender at the end of the season – now having a clear understanding as to what it would take in a financial sense to secure the player.

Elsewhere, there has also been the mention of Chelsea and England international left-back Ben Chilwell as a potential option that Manchester City could look into, should there be a willingness to sell to a direct rival from the part of the London club.

Back in 2020, Etihad Stadium bosses opted against triggering Chilwell’s then-£42 million release clause when the player left Leicester City for Stamford Bridge.

For the time being, Pep Guardiola is expected to make do with the current options that he has at his disposal at left-back, with Nathan Ake, Aymeric Laporte, and Sergio Gomez all having been utilised in the position across the course of the season so far.
