New report reveals staggering success of Manchester City’s Netflix documentary in first week
The success of Manchester City’s brand new Netflix documentary showcasing the Treble-winning season of 2022/23 has been detailed in a new report.
Pep Guardiola and his squad of last season made history, and recorded a feat only ever previously achieved by Manchester United in 1999; claiming the Premier League, FA Cup, and European Cup in the same season.
The historic season will likely go down as one of, if not the finest single campaign in English football history, while Manchester City supporters have now also finally seen the club claim the one trophy that has alluded them since their Abu Dhabi takeover of 2008.
As such, it was only fitting that one of the globe’s biggest streaming platforms opted to invest so heavily in behind-the-scenes content captured by Manchester City’s in-house media team, releasing a six-part docu-series earlier this month covering the season as a whole.
And that series has been a remarkable success across Netflix, who are understood to have sanctioned a seven-figure fee to Manchester City to obtain footage, and subsequently work closely with the Premier League champions on the editing process.
According to the information of Jack Gaughan, in the latest edition of MailSport’s Man City Notebook, ‘Together: Treble Winners’ was viewed a staggering 1.8 million times in its first week and nestled itself in Netflix’s global top 10.
Manchester City remain in the chase for a second successive Treble this season, with Pep Guardiola and his players embroiled in a fiercely-contested Premier League title battle with Arsenal and Liverpool.
The FA Cup semi-final stage also awaits the current holders of England’s most historic cup competition as Chelsea are the opponents at Wembley Stadium next weekend, while Real Madrid find themselves finely poised with a 3-3 scoreline ahead of the Champions League quarter-final second-leg.
