The City Group and Manchester City’s search for the finest prospects in South America has continued to be reported this week, with the emergence of a new name.

The latest developments have emerged just days after the City Group showed a concrete interest in 2003-born, senior Uruguay international talent Luciano Rodriguez, whilst facing competition from Dutch side Feyenoord.

Such is the level of interest from City’s parent company that it is understood an official from within the organisation is currently in Buenos Aires finalising an agreement, however there is a further feeling CFG will not pay more than $15 million for a portion of his rights.

Manchester City are simultaneously working on an agreement for another teenage talent, with reports from Brazil indicating an interest in a midfield name new to the transfer rumour mill revolving around the Etihad Stadium club.

According to the information of Mundo Rubro Negro, as relayed by Scouts in Attendance, Manchester City are among clubs interested in Flamengo midfielder Lorran – who notably provided both a goal and assist in the Under-20 Copa Libertadores final against Boca Juniors.

Despite being just 17-years-old, Lorran is protected by an outstanding release clause reported to be worth €50 million, while the player is also represented by global entertainment company and management brand Roc Nation.

Regarding the three Premier League teams named in the chase for the exciting teenager, it is further detailed that Manchester City are ‘evaluating a proposal’, while both Crystal Palace and Newcastle United are ‘on the lookout’.

Manchester City have secured a number of Brazilian talents from South America in recent seasons, while the success of one name has rewarded him with a move to the Etihad Stadium off the back of stellar performances in the Spanish game.

Savio – who made his senior Brazil international debut over the weekend against England in an international friendly – is expected to make a switch to Manchester City this summer, and earn the opportunity to impress Pep Guardiola and his staff during pre-season in the United States.

Elsewhere, Manchester City will also be keeping a close eye on the progression of Yan Couto, who has been spending the season on loan with Savio at Girona. The 21-year-old full-back is being tipped by some to be the long-term successor to Kyle Walker at the Etihad.
