Erling Haaland moves closer to staggering seven-figure pay-out following Real Madrid result
Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland has moved a step closer towards securing himself a staggering seven-figure cash bonus this week.
Pep Guardiola and his players secured a 1-1 draw at the home of European giants Real Madrid on Tuesday night, meaning next week’s Champions League semi-final second-leg is all to play for at the Etihad Stadium.
The victors of the tie across 180 minutes will book themselves a place in the 2023 Champions League final, which is set to be staged in the Turkish city of Istanbul, and such a feat could hand Manchester City a huge opportunity to win a historic treble of silverware.
The collective achievements of Manchester City and their players this season could also bank Erling Haaland a significant pay-out of his own, as the record-breaking centre-forward has several favourable clauses embedded into his Etihad agreement.
According to the information of The Sun, Erling Haaland could be in line to earn as much as a £5 million bonus at the end of the ongoing season, should the Norway international and Manchester City as a collective achieve several goals.
It is revealed that Haaland will collect around £1 million each for lifting the Premier League and Champions League trophies this season, while an additional £350,000 is in store should City defeat Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
The claiming of end-of-season awards including the PFA Player of the Year could earn Haaland additional sums, while The Sun report that should the 22 year-old make history by winning the Ballon d’Or, then that would bank himself an additional £1 million.
So far this season, with a potential of seven games remaining should City reach the Champions League final, Erling Haaland has managed to score an historic 51 goals across 47 appearances in all competitions.
His tally of 35 goals in the Premier League alone have all-but secured himself the Golden Boot, and with four games remaining in the competition, there is every chance that Haaland could cement himself in the history books for generations to come.
Manchester City next take on Everton at Goodison Park in the Premier League, as they hope to secure the win that would ensure they remain top of the division for yet another weekend, and close in on their fifth top-flight title under Pep Guardiola.
