Manchester City are monitoring Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga, who is attracting significant interest from across the Premier League ahead of the summer transfer window.

Pep Guardiola is set for a significant shake-up to his Manchester City midfield ahead of next season, with the potential for both Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva to leave the club following the conclusion of the campaign.

Gundogan, who is subject to transfer interest from Barcelona, is out of contract at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Bernardo Silva could be set for a return to France, with Paris Saint Germain recently renewing their interest in the Portugal midfielder.

Manchester City signed young Argentina midfielder Maximo Perrone in January, and have also been linked with Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham as well as Chelsea pair Mason Mount and Mateo Kovacic.

A new midfield target has also entered the frame, with the Blues ‘monitoring’ Celta Vigo youngster Gabri Veiga, according to Jack Gaughan.

The 20 year-old been directly involved in 13 goals in 29 appearances so far this season, netting nine times and providing three assists.

Veiga has been linked with Real Madrid, while other Premier League clubs including Newcastle, Liverpool and Manchester United are also claimed to be interested in signing the Spaniard this summer.

Celta Vigo President Carlos Mourino recently revealed that four Premier League sides had already enquired about signing the 20 year-old midfielder.

“Of the top 10 in the Premier League, four have asked about him,” said Mourino.

Veiga has a €40 million release clause and according to the Daily Mail, City manager Pep Guardiola is keen to add to his midfield in the transfer market.

A report from Spain previously claimed that City were ready to activate the release clause of the Celta Vigo midfielder, with the Blues preparing to offer the Spanish starlet a five-year contract.
