Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly set to make a move for Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva this summer.

The City midfielder has been at the centre of a number of long-running transfer sagas in recent markets, most recently concerning FC Barcelona – who could yet still reignite their interest in the player should finances permit.

Bernardo Silva has been seeking an exit from Manchester City for the past two seasons in particular, targeting a move closer to his native Portugal and to sunnier shores, after falling out of love with the lifestyle on offer in the north-west of England.

While Barcelona continue to weigh up their options in the background ahead of the summer window, a new name has reemerged for Bernardo Silva and his representatives this week from a City that the player is known to be a fan of.

According to the information of L’Equipe, Paris Saint-Germain’s sporting advisor Luís Campos is now looking ahead to the summer transfer window, with the club set for another busy market following their Champions League knock-out defeat to Bayern Munich.

As translated and relayed by Get French Football News, Campos intends to make another move for Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva, having made an effort to sign the Portugal international last year.

The report claims that the former AS Monaco man will be on the market this summer, having expressed a desire to leave the Etihad Stadium in consecutive transfer windows, and could be set for a move back to Ligue 1.

Given the uncertainty surrounding the future of Bernardo Silva, midfield continues to be an area of interest for Manchester City in regards to possible recruitment this summer.

While Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham is understood to be the Premier League Champions’ number one target in the position, they are also lining up a number of other names in the event of having to sign two midfielders or an alternative to the aforementioned Englishman.

City are unsurprisingly expected to face fierce competition for the signature of the Dortmund star, with Real Madrid and Liverpool being the two other most interested parties in the former Birmingham City man.

For the time being, City will continue to sound out the future desires of Bernardo Silva as well as their club captain Ilkay Gundogan – who remains undecided over his future, with his contract expiring at the end of the ongoing season.
