Manchester City closely monitoring AC Milan forward Rafael Leao with fellow Serie A star mooted
Manchester City’s interest in signing a new forward this summer has reportedly led to the Premier League champions closely monitoring AC Milan star Rafael Leao.
Pep Guardiola is set for a significant shake-up of his squad this summer, with the futures of several first-team players beyond the current campaign subject to intense speculation.
Midfield pair Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan could both be set for exits from the Etihad Stadium, with the latter out of contract at the end of the season.
City are also set to be in the market for a new left-back after Joao Cancelo dramatically moved to Bayern Munich on-loan for the remainder of the current campaign following a series of bitter incidents.
The futures of defenders Kyle Walker and Aymeric Laporte beyond this year have also been subject to recent speculation.
As well as departures, Manchester City look set for a series of new arrivals, with Jack Gaughan reporting that the Blues are keen to add another forward to the squad.
That new forward come from the Serie A in Italy, with the Daily Mail further claiming that the Blues are ‘closely monitoring’ AC Milan star Rafael Leao.
The 23 year-old has 14 direct goal involvements in 19 league appearances and has also registered three assists and one goal in six Champions League showings.
Fellow Serie A forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia also has suitors across Europe, according to the report.
The 21 year-old Napoli forward has 22 direct goal involvements in 21 appearances across the league and Champions League so far this season.
Kvaratskhelia only joined Napoli last summer but has already been linked with a possible move to the Premier League.
The addition of a new forward would leave Phil Foden set for a positional change.
Foden would reportedly move inside to play behind striker Erling Haaland, should the Blues recruit a new winger.
