After a win against the same opposition earlier in the week, Manchester City take on Chelsea once again this weekend, this time in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.

On Thursday night, Manchester City visited Stamford Bridge as they looked to close the gap between themselves and the current Premier League leaders Arsenal.

Defeating the West London outfit via a slender 0-1 advantage, City did just that, after the two sides exchanged plenty of chances in the first half and John Stones making a perfectly-timed challenge on Christian Pulisic in the 15th minute to keep the game level.

However, it was the second-half substitutions of Riyad Mahrez and Jack Grealish that would ultimately make the difference for Manchester City, as the Algerian winger tapped home a ball from across the six-yard box, putting his side in front.

While the defending Champions left with the three points they needed, Chelsea went away with two significant injuries, as former Sky Blue forward Raheem Sterling sustained a hamstring problem during the opening minutes, while Pulisic was replaced just moments later in the first-half.

The two injuries add to a long list of players that currently sit out of Graham Potter’s squad, including the likes of Mason Mount, N’Golo Kante, Ben Chilwell, and Reece James amongst others.
