Confirmed Line-Ups: Brighton vs Manchester City (Premier League)
Manchester City travel to the south coast to take on Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton side knowing the situation they find themselves in this season.
Pep Guardiola and his players will be well aware that the direction of this season’s Premier League title is currently in their hands, and should they win all of their remaining six top-flight matches, they will become champions for the fourth successive season.
City also know that following Liverpool’s defeat to Everton at Goodison Park on Wednesday night that a win at the Amex Stadium would open up a two-point lead on Jurgen Klopp’s side, with a game still in hand.
Manchester City come into the contest fresh off the back of a 1-0 win over Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley Stadium, and a two-day rest issued by Pep Guardiola following an intense week that also saw them lose out to Real Madrid after 120 minutes of action.
On a squad fitness front, Guardiola confirmed ahead of matchday that Erling Haaland would play no part in the fixture, with the Norwegian still struggling from a minor fitness problem that also ruled him out of action against Chelsea on Saturday evening.
Ahead of kick-off at the Amex Stadium on Thursday night, both Roberto De Zerbi and Pep Guardiola have confirmed their respective Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester City starting line-ups!
