Manchester City are yet to schedule any talks with Erling Haaland nor his representatives, according to a new report around the Norwegian.

The 23-year-old is fresh off the back of his first start for the club since recovering from a stress fracture in his foot, ruling him out of action for Pep Guardiola’s side for a period of two months, including the successful FIFA Club World Cup campaign in Saudi Arabia.

Despite only joining Manchester City in the summer of 2022, Haaland has been consistently linked with exits from the Etihad Stadium to La Liga giants Real Madrid, who lost out in the high-profile race for the Norway international two years ago.

As such, City themselves are keen to retain Haaland’s value and also prevent potential suitors from eyeing opportunities to launch serious offers for the player, doing so by extending his contract beyond 2027.

However, according to the information of Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke, Manchester City have not yet scheduled contract renewal talks with Erling Haaland, and such conversations are “not imminent”.

The report quotes sources who say that Manchester City have “no worries” about Haaland leaving the Etihad Stadium at this time, while it is also believed the striker could sit down for talks about his future in the off-season.

Manchester City have been in safe hands during Erling Haaland’s absence from the club over the past few weeks, with Julian Alvarez stepping up into the lone striker role and delivering in the goal contributions department in abundance.

The Argentina international finds himself just one short of Haaland’s goal contributions tally, with the latter retaking the lead in that department with his assist for Phil Foden in Manchester City’s recent 1-3 win over Brentford.

City are back in action on Saturday afternoon as they host Everton at the Etihad Stadium.
