Premier League champions Manchester City received a staggering £176.2 million in prize money following their success in the English top-flight last season.

Success in the Premier League marked the first of three trophies claimed in a two-week period at the end of the 2022/23 campaign for Pep Guardiola’s side, as well as the first of five pieces of silverware across the calendar year.

Victory in the Premier League was followed up by an FA Cup final win over bitter rivals Manchester United, before jetting off to Istanbul where Rodri’s second-half goal earned Manchester City their first ever UEFA Champions League prize.

Following on from subsequent successes in the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup in August and December respectively, there has now been confirmation as to just how much Manchester City received for their success in England’s premier division.

As per confirmation from The Telegraph’s James Ducker, Manchester City earned a staggering £176.2 million from their Premier League title win last season, whilst Arsenal received £172.2 million for their second-placed finish.

Across the other side of the city and Manchester United bagged £168.3 million for finishing third in the division, whilst Southampton – who ended the campaign rock bottom of the division – earned £103.6 million.

City are currently engaged in a hotly-contested Premier League title race once again this season, with competition from all of Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, and Aston Villa heading into the second-half of the campaign.

Elsewhere and City face a challenging FA Cup fifth round tie away at Luton Town this month, as well as the first-leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie against Danish giants FC Copenhagen.
