Confirmed Match Officials: Manchester City vs Burnley (Premier League)
Sam Barrott will take charge of Manchester City’s Premier League meeting with Burnley on Wednesday evening.
Manchester City resume their Premier League title bid in midweek, as Vincent Kompany returns to the Etihad Stadium as a manager for the first time in the Premier League, with a relegation-threatened Burnley side.
The Clarets are currently five points adrift of safety, sat in 19th place in the Premier League table with just three wins all season.
City have a formidable recent record against Burnley, winning 16 of the past 17 matches between the two sides, including a thumping 6-0 win at the Etihad Stadium last year in the Emirates FA Cup.
Pep Guardiola’s side could move to within two points of league leaders Liverpool with a victory in midweek, and are currently on a 10-game unbeaten streak, after an historic 1-0 win over Tottenham in the Emirates FA Cup fourth round on Friday evening.
Nathan Ake’s 88th minute goal secured Manchester City’s first victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with the Dutch defender netting with the Blues’ 102nd attempt at the north London venue.
City remain in the hunt to retain last season’s treble, and play in the Premier League for the first time since a crucial 3-2 win over Newcastle United earlier this month, where Kevin De Bruyne starred at St James’ Park.
Ahead of Vincent Kompany’s managerial return to the Etihad Stadium, the Premier League have confirmed the Match Officials for Wednesday’s clash.
