Manchester City are reported to be keen observers of FC Copenhagen winger Roony Bardghji, according to Football Insider.

The teenager has launched himself into the picture in European football, putting on stunning performances on the flank for the Danish side in their Champions League group games against Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Galatasaray.

Bardghji has also been in scintillating form on the domestic front, and has tallied 11 goals across 30 appearances in all competitions so far in the 2023/24 campaign. As a result, some of Europe’s top clubs have turned their attention towards the wide-man.

According to Football Insider, Manchester City and local rivals Manchester United have both sent scouts to keep an eye on the Copenhagen youngster. Those scouts are said to have been present for ‘every Copenhagen game this season’.

Bardghji is said to be attracting interest from clubs all around Europe, but the two Manchester clubs are leading the pack when it comes to observing the winger.

While the Swede only broke into the Copenhagen first team during the 2021/22 season, he has since cemented himself as mainstay in attack, and was recently rewarded for his showings with a contract extension through 2025.

Manchester City will reportedly be relatively quiet in the January transfer window, but the Etihad outfit is soon set to announce the signing of promising River Plate youngster Claudio Echeverri.

The Argentine will remain with River Plate on loan for the remainder of the season, similarly to how City signed Julian Alvarez in the January window of 2021.

Meanwhile, back on the pitch, Pep Guardiola’s side will face off with Newcastle United at St. James’s Park this weekend as they look to regain momentum in the Premier League title race.

The Blues sit five points behind league leaders Liverpool with a game in hand Jurgen Klopp’s men heading into the weekend.
