Manchester City’s John Stones has finalised investment in an emerging market in the US sports industry in recent weeks, a new report has detailed.

The Champions League-winning defender has endured a tumultuous campaign so far, having sustained a number of problematic injuries since the start of the season, seeing his game time fluctuate across competitions.

Stones’ latest injury setback – following a number of muscular issues leading to almost half of the season to be missed – saw him sustain an ankle knock in the victory over Everton towards the end of last month, with individual training only having been resumed in early 2024.

However, while events on the field may be somewhat challenging for the England international star, John Stones’ business ventures away from football and in his private life appear to be going from strength to strength.

As per a report from Bloomberg, Manchester City centre-back John Stones has lodged investment into a San Francisco team competing in ‘TGL’, a new indoor golf league created by sporting icons Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.

Apex Capital, alongside the Premier League superstar and Formula 1 driver Alex Albon, are fronting the investment deal, while the athletes themselves will take part in TGL events, including charity events, and helping to expand the team’s fanbase in a league expected to start in 2025.

John Stones has given Pep Guardiola plenty of food for thought when it comes to business on the field, with the Englishman offering skills and traits in various positions, specifically in defensive midfield in the last campaign.

Large elements of Manchester City’s success on the field was accompanied by Stones’ ability to shadow Rodri in a double-pivot at the base of the club’s midfield, driving the club to a historic Treble success.

With Pep Guardiola and his players hoping to replicate such staggering heights during the ongoing season, Stones’ fitness and ability to put together a run of outings for the club could play a huge part in their chances.
