Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have now discovered their fate in the Emirates FA Cup fourth round, following the draw which took place on Monday evening.
The current FA Cup holders breezed into the fourth round of this season’s competition with a 5-0 win over Huddersfield Town at the Etihad Stadium, to kick-off 2024 with a thumping home victory.
Phil Foden, Julian Alvarez, Oscar Bobb and Jeremy Doku were all amongst the goals, as Manchester City booked their place in the next round of the FA Cup.
Foden opened the scoring from an acute angle just past the half hour mark, before Alvarez quickly added to the Blues’ lead after a dominant first 45 minutes.
Kevin De Bruyne and Doku both returned from injury in the second-half, as Foden scored his second goal with a rocketing effort, and both Bobb and Doku added to their tallies for the campaign.
The fourth round of the FA Cup is due to take place later this month, as Pep Guardiola’s side bid to reach two Wembley Stadium finals this season, with the north London ground also set to host the UEFA Champions League Final.
Manchester City will travel to north London to face Tottenham in the FA Cup fourth round, with the fixture taking place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
