Leaked: Manchester City 2024/25 kit to take inspiration from recent classic design
Manchester City and PUMA appear set to work on a re-make of a recent classic edition produce by former kit manufacturers Umbro for the 2024/25 campaign.
Despite the ongoing 2023/24 campaign still in full swing, and Pep Guardiola’s side embarking on the all-important second-half of the season in the coming weeks, work behind-the-scenes is well underway for the forthcoming season.
That work concerns PUMA and their design and production of Manchester City’s strips for the next season, with inspiration reportedly being taken from an all-time fan favourite produced by their first kit manufacturer of the Abu Dhabi era.
That information is courtesy of football kit and merchandise experts Footy Headlines, who have this week provided a hint towards the predominant colour schemes involved in one of the club’s upcoming jerseys.
According to the information of Footy Headlines, one of either Manchester City’s away or third kits for the upcoming 2024/25 season will take inspiration from the 2012/13 away jersey produced by Umbro.
The ongoing season saw PUMA pay homage to the 20-year anniversary of Manchester City starring at the Etihad Stadium through the design of their traditional home kit.
The away kit was a tribute to the history of Manchester as an industrial heartland with references to the region’s iconic architecture and infrastructure, while the third kit was inspired by Manchester City’s electric football.
