Manchester City have announced their 23-man travelling squad to face Crvena zvezda in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.

Pep Guardiola’s side will conclude their Champions League Group Stage campaign in Belgrade, having already secured qualification as Group G winners ahead of Wednesday evening’s clash against Crvena zvezda.

Manchester City have won all five of their Champions League matches so far this season, most recently a 3-2 comeback win over Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig, after second-half goals from Erling Haaland, Phil Foden and Julian Alvarez.

The Blues beat Crvena zvezda 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium in matchday one, and the Serbian side are winless in the competition so far this season.

Alvarez scored twice during the win over Barak Bakhar’s team in September, with Manchester City now preparing to travel to Belgrade for the first time in the club’s history.

Ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash in the Serbian capital, Pep Guardiola has now named his travelling squad for the contest at the Rajko Mitić Stadium.

NUMBER-man travelling Manchester City squad vs Crvena zvezda

Goalkeepers: Ortega Moreno, Carson, Grant

Defenders: Walker, Lewis, Alleyne, Stones, Dias, Akanji, Ake, Gvardiol, Gomez

Midfielders: Phillips, Rodri, Susoho, Hamilton, Nunes, Kovacic, Bobb, Bernardo

Forwards: Foden, Grealish, Alvarez

Fitness notes

Kevin De Bruyne remains ruled out for this contest, and for the coming matches, as the Belgian continues his recovery towards full fitness following surgery on a hamstring problem in the summer.

The Belgium international captain is likely to make a full return to Manchester City activities early in the new year, with the club insistent on not taking any risks with the 32-year-old and allowing him time to make a full recovery.

Elsewhere and Jeremy Doku and Erling Haaland remain ruled out through a muscular and foot problem respectively, while both players could yet make full returns to the squad ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia next week.

Ederson was ruled out of training on Tuesday morning through illness, presenting an even clearer opportunity for Stefan Ortega Moreno to start for the UEFA Champions League holders in Serbia.
