Manchester City face fresh double injury blow as 22-goal pair miss Luton Town clash
Manchester City are without forward duo Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku for Sunday’s visit to Luton Town.
Pep Guardiola’s side are contending with further major absentees, as Manchester City look for their first win since early November, after a surprise winless streak of four matches left the Sky Blues seven points behind league leaders Liverpool.
Defeat to Aston Villa extended the Blues’ run without a win in the Premier League on Wednesday evening, with the Sky Blues taking just three points from a possible previous 12.
The treble-winners, who have been without Kevin De Bruyne for the entirety of the campaign, had trio Rodri, Jack Grealish and Jeremy Doku unavailable for selection in midweek at Villa Park.
The latter will also miss Sunday afternoon’s clash against Luton Town, with Doku having suffered an injury against Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium last weekend.
Doku has made an impressive start to life in the Premier League, having moved to the Etihad Stadium for £55.5 million in late August.
The 21-year-old has been directly involved in seven Premier League goals in 11 appearances since making his debut against Fulham in September.
Guardiola’s side are also without star striker Erling Haaland for Sunday’s trip to Kenilworth Road, with the 23-year-old suffering a suspected foot injury, to provide a fresh selection headache.
Haaland, who has scored 19 goals so far this season, featured for the full 90 minutes against Aston Villa, and hadn’t missed a Premier League match this season before this weekend’s meeting with Luton Town.
