Simon Hooper will take charge of Manchester City’s upcoming Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

City will be looking to maintain their good form at the top of the division this weekend, but also return to winning ways in the Premier League having drawn their last two fixtures in the competition.

Prior to the international break this month, Pep Guardiola and his players could only manage a 4-4 draw at Stamford Bridge in an enthralling contest in London that saw former players Raheem Sterling and Cole Palmer both get themselves onto the scoresheet.

Most recently it was Liverpool who managed to snatch a point off the Premier League champions, after Erling Haaland’s first-half goal last Saturday was cancelled out by a sumptuous effort from Trent Alexander-Arnold.

City did however return to winning ways on Tuesday night, as they booked their place in the UEFA Champions League last-16 in first position in their group with a 3-2 comeback victory over RB Leipzig at the Etihad Stadium.

Now, ahead of Sunday afternoon’s crucial top-of-the-table clash at the Etihad, the Premier League have confirmed the Match Officials for the meeting between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

Match Referee

Simon Hooper has been named as the on-field match referee for Manchester City’s clash with Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday.

The 41-year-old has officiated a total of seven matches in the English top-flight so far this season, issuing a staggering 39 yellow cards in the process, sending off players on three occasions, two of which came via second yellows.

Hooper has not taken charge of a Manchester City game so far this season across all competitions, while his last contest involving the recent Treble winners saw them held to a 1-1 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion towards the end of the last campaign.

Assistant Referees

Simon Hooper will be accompanied at the Etihad Stadium by Assistant Referees Adrian Holmes and Simon Long.

Video Assistant Referees

Overviewing proceedings will be Video Assistant Referee Robert Jones and Assistant Video Assistant Referee Darren Cann.

Fourth Official

Anthony Taylor has been named as the Fourth Official for this weekend’s meeting, overseeing conduct within the two dug-outs and the behaviour of managers Pep Guardiola and Ange Postecoglou.
