Erik Lambrechts will take charge of Manchester City’s UEFA Champions League clash with BSC Young Boys at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Pep Guardiola’s side can secure qualification for the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League in midweek, with Manchester City needing to beat BSC Young Boys to secure progression to next round of the competition.
The Blues beat Swiss side BSC Young Boys 3-1 back in October, courtesy of Erling Haaland’s sumptuous brace and Manuel Akanji’s early second-half goal at the Wankdorf Stadium in the city of Bern.
Manchester City have won all three Champions League Group Stage matches by a 3-1 scoreline so far this season, having also recorded wins over Red Star Belgrade and RB Leipzig, to move to the top of Group G.
Pep Guardiola’s side also returned to the top of the Premier League table on Saturday afternoon, thrashing Bournemouth 6-1 at the Etihad Stadium and recording a 22nd successive home victory.
Summer signing Jeremy Doku, who scored in the Blues’ win over RB Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena, was directly involved in five of Manchester City’s goals, as the Sky Blues battered Bournemouth.
The treble-winners will be looking for a fifth consecutive victory in all competitions on Tuesday evening, and ahead of the fixture, UEFA have announced the Match Officials for the Champions League clash.
Erik Lambrechts has been named as the referee for Manchester City’s meeting with BSC Young Boys in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The referee has officiated six matches so far this season across all competitions, showing 26 yellow cards, no red cards, but awarding a total of four penalty kicks in the process.
Erik Lambrechts will be accompanied at the Etihad Stadium by Assistant Referees Jo De Weirdt and Kevin Monteny.
