Pep Guardiola taunts Manchester United with major post-match revelation

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed the key reason behind the club’s success in a fresh swipe at rivals Manchester United.
Guardiola’s side battered local rivals Manchester United in the derby at Old Trafford on Sunday, thumping Erik ten Hag’s side 3-0, after two goals from Erling Haaland and a late effort from Phil Foden.
The Manchester City duo, who both scored hat-tricks against Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium last season, helped the Sky Blues to a first victory at Old Trafford since 2021.
Haaland opened the scoring from the penalty spot midway through the first-half before scoring his 11th Premier League goal of the season in the second-half, heading past Andre Onana.
The 23-year-old, who could be named the Men’s Ballon d’Or winner on Monday evening, assisted Foden in the 80th minute, as the Englishman netted from close range.
Manchester City ran riot at Old Trafford, registering 21 attempts and dominating possession throughout.
Guardiola’s side moved to within two points of Tottenham at the top of the Premier League table with a win on Sunday, while also inflicting a fifth league defeat of the campaign on Manchester United.
Manchester City are bidding to win the Premier League for a fourth successive year, having also emulated Manchester United’s treble success last season – winning the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League.
Asked whether he could pinpoint the difference between the two clubs post-match, Guardiola took a swipe at current issues at Old Trafford.
“We are in the same direction, me, the CEO, the sporting directors, the chairman. That is why I think the club is so stable.”
The victory was Pep Guardiola’s seventh win in 11 visits to Old Trafford as Manchester City manager, with the Catalan having only beaten Arsenal on more occasions.
