Manchester City push to sign PSG’s Champions League star despite contract extension news

Premier League champions Manchester City are reportedly continuing to push for the signature of Paris Saint-Germain starlet Warren Zaire-Emery.
The 17-year-old versatile midfielder is enjoying one of his most profitable campaigns to date in his young career thus far, featuring as a regular fixture in the French capital’s marquee team this season.
Across 11 appearances in all competitions, including three in the UEFA Champions League, Warren Zaire-Emery has provided a total of five assists, with three coming in three outings in Europe’s premier club competition.
As such, it comes as no surprise to find out of a hotly-contested battle between some of Europe’s top clubs for the player’s signature, alongside PSG’s intent to have the player tied down to a new long-term deal in the coming days and weeks.
According to the information of Sports Zone, as relayed by Get French Football News, both Manchester City and Bayern Munich are still ‘pushing’ to sign Warren Zaïre-Emery, despite France under-21’s captain nearing an agreement over a contract extension at PSG.
City’s interest in the 17-year-old talent has been widely reported for a number of months, and the lengths to which the Premier League champions were prepared to go was highlighted during the summer transfer window.
Back in June, as reported by Fabrice Hawkins, it was claimed at the time that Etihad Stadium officials had asked PSG’s midfielder to be included in a deal for Bernardo Silva, in a request that had been rejected by the French club.
The Ligue 1 giants had held a long-standing interest in Bernardo Silva, and despite PSG boasting some exceptional talents within their first-team squad, Manchester City instead looked towards a star of the future should a deal for their Portuguese playmaker be agreed.
