Manchester City have put together their final preparations before Wednesday’s Champions League clash with RB Leipzig in Germany.

Pep Guardiola’s side have now travelled to east Germany to face RB Leipzig on matchday two of the UEFA Champions League group stage in midweek, bidding to move three points clear at the top of Group G with a win over the Bundesliga giants.

Manchester City are also looking to bounce back from successive losses, after losing to Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup third round and Premier League respectively.

The Sky Blues crashed to a disappointing defeat in the Midlands on Saturday afternoon, as Wolves recorded a surprise 2-1 win over the reigning Champions, after Hwang Hee-chan restored the Wanderers’ lead in the 66th minute.

Manchester City beat RB Leipzig 8-1 on aggregate last season, but drew 1-1 at the Red Bull Arena in the last-16 first-leg tie back in February. Erling Haaland netted a record-equalling five goals in the second-leg, as City thumped a Leipzig side that then included Josko Gvardiol.

The Croatian international defender is set feature against his former club in midweek, after completing a £77.6 million move to the Etihad Stadium during the earlier stages of the recent summer transfer window.

The 21-year-old has made seven appearances for Manchester City so far this season, impressing onlookers including most notably Pep Guardiola, but is yet to feature in the Champions League for the Blues.
