22-man Manchester City squad training ahead of Champions League Group Stage clash against RB Leipzig

Manchester City have put together their final preparations for their Champions League Group Stage clash with RB Leipzig in Germany this week.
Pep Guardiola’s side are looking to bounce back from back-to-back defeats across competitions in the last week, after surprise losses to Newcastle United and Wolves in the Carabao Cup and Premier League respectively.
Manchester City crashed out of the Carabao Cup at the third round stage last Wednesday, and suffered a shock 2-1 loss to Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, abruptly ending the Blues’ 100 per cent winning start to the campaign.
The treble-winners were without John Stones, Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri (suspended) for Saturday’s defeat, with City continuing to contend with a series of injury issues and the Spanish defensive midfielder’s three-match suspension.
The Spaniard will however be available for the Blues’ clash against RB Leipzig in Germany on Wednesday night, as Manchester City look to move three points clear at the top of Group G with a victory against the Bundesliga side.
Both City and RB Leipzig won their opening Champions League group games 3-1, with the Sky Blues coming from behind to beat Red Star Belgrade at the Etihad Stadium, courtesy of goals from Julian Alvarez and Rodri.
Pep Guardiola’s side battered RB Leipzig 7-0 the last time these two sides met, with Erling Haaland scoring five goals during an emphatic second-leg victory at the Etihad Stadium last season en route to winning the competition.
Ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash against RB Leipzig in east Germany, here is a complete list of players spotted training at the City Football Academy.
Goalkeepers: Ederson, Ortega Moreno, Carson.
Defenders: Walker, Lewis, Akanji, Dias, Stones, Ake, Gvardiol, Gomez.
Midfielders: Rodri, Kovacic, Phillips, Nunes, Bernardo Silva.
Forwards: Doku, Foden, Bobb, Haaland, Grealish, Alvarez.
Academy players featuring in first-team training features Alfie Harrison, Tom Galvez, and Micah Hamilton.
Bernardo Silva and John Stones are the most notable names spotted in Manchester City first-team training with their return to on-field team action following their respective injury problems in recent weeks.
The Portugal international has been out of action since matchday one in the Champions League group stage after picking up a problem against Red Star Belgrade at the Etihad Stadium, while Stones has only featured once all season.
Rodri trains as normal as he is permitted to play a part for Pep Guardiola’s side against RB Leipzig, with his three-match suspension restricted to domestic competition only, meaning his third and final game out will come against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
