Pep Guardiola provides promising update on John Stones as FOUR Man City stars confirmed OUT of Wolves clash

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has provided a promising update on the recovery of John Stones following the England international’s injury.
The centre-back has featured in just one game for Manchester City this season so far, and remains ruled out for the weekend’s contest against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Stones stands alongside three other Manchester City first-team stars in being ruled out of the team’s upcoming away trip, with Rodri sitting out of his second match in a three-game suspension following a straight red card against Nottingham Forest.
While Pep Guardiola confirmed John Stones would play no part in the contest at Molineux this weekend, speaking during his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon, the City boss did however offer an encouraging development on the defender.
“He’s better, he feels good,” began Pep Guardiola. “(He’s) Training alone. Today is Friday. Maybe next week or after Leipzig (in the Champions League on Wednesday night). It is what it is. It’s a pity but if you are not you are not, have to find a solution.
“The players want to come back. Recover and come back.”
In a more wider update on Manchester City’s other injury concerns, Pep Guardiola also confirmed that Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne remain ruled out for the Premier League champions this weekend.
The Portugal international sustained a problem during City’s opening UEFA Champions League group stage fixture last week, as he was replaced before the half-time interval of the 3-1 win over Crvena zvezda.
As for Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City’s vice-captain is expected to remain ruled out of action until early 2024 after he underwent surgery on a hamstring problem aggravated following the 0-3 Premier League opening victory over Burnley in August.
The Belgium international captain is however back at Manchester City’s training facility, and is understood to be undergoing some very light gym routines to maintain physical strength.
