Manchester City have received rave reviews from the former Arsenal and Chelsea defensive midfielder Emmanuel Petit concerning their incoming forward Jeremy Doku.

The 21-year-old Belgium international forward is on the verge of being unveiled as a brand new Manchester City player, with an official announcement from the Premier League champions expected this week.

The deal comes after City officials reached an agreement with Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais over a €65 million transfer fee for the winger, despite interest from other clubs in the Premier League including West Ham, Tottenham, and Chelsea.

Now, one former player of the latter has offered a sensational review of Manchester City’s newest recruit, but warned that coaches at the Etihad Stadium will need to offer him the necessary experiences in order to naturally improve his on-field game.

Speaking during a recent interview with BettingSites.co.uk, Emmanuel Petit said, “Jeremy Doku is a very young but very talented player. He is very fast and very explosive. He plays on the right wing and he is very good with the ball at his feet.

“His dribbling is great and he has got very, very high qualities. But he needs more experience and he needs to control his game even more with his movements. He is only 21, but he has already been playing for his national team for a couple of years already.”

He continued, “So I’m not surprised that top clubs are interested in him because it is rare to see a player with his quality.”

Jeremy Doku is expected to be available on Sunday afternoon as Manchester City travel to the home of newly-promoted Sheffield United for their third encounter of the ongoing Premier League season.

City have started the new campaign in style with an impressive 0-3 opening weekend victory over Burnley followed up by a 1-0 victory against high-flying Newcastle, with both contests either side of a UEFA Super Cup victory in Athens.
