Confirmed Line-Ups: Manchester City vs Newcastle United (Premier League)
Manchester City return to Premier League action at the Etihad Stadium for the first time in the new season, hosting Newcastle United on Saturday night.
Pep Guardiola’s side come into the contest fresh off the back of their UEFA Super Cup victory over Sevilla on Wednesday night, defeating the La Liga outfit through a 5-4 penalty shoot-out win in Athens.
In the Premier League, Manchester City secured a 0-3 win at Burnley on the opening weekend in a statement victory over Vincent Kompany’s newly-promoted side via an Erling Haaland brace and a Rodrigo close-range effort.
City are hampered by injury problems coming into the clash against the Magpies, with Kevin De Bruyne ruled out until earlier 2024 after undergoing hamstring surgery, and John Stones sustaining a muscular problem during the post-Sevilla recovery training session.
