Manchester City and Puma confirm release date for 2023/24 away kit

| Last Updated:

The 2023/24 Manchester City away kit is now on the verge of being officially released by the club and Puma, ahead of the start of the brand new Premier League season.

Pep Guardiola and his players get their defence of yet another English top-flight crown underway on Friday night, when they travel to the home of newly-promoted Burnley for the first three points of the new campaign.

The trip to Turf Moor may not only be an opportunity to debut £78 million signing Josko Gvardiol – who joined the club from RB Leipzig last weekend, but could also act as a first look at the club’s new away strip.

In a teaser video released by both Manchester City and Puma on Tuesday afternoon, it can now be revealed that the 2023/24 away kit for the Premier League champions will be released on Thursday 10 August.

The video showcases the likes of Phil Foden and Ederson posing in a glossy teaser for a kit accompanied by the slogan ‘Made Of Manchester’ – hinting towards a jersey inspired by the city’s industrial past.

The seven second clip also briefly features Manchester’s warehouses, mills, and factories as a background layer dominated by an orange and white colour scheme, which some believe could be pointing towards the colours used on the new shirt.

Manchester City have already shown off their new home and third kits this season, with both editions featuring across pre-season, and the new traditional sky blue strip taking a bow in the first competitive match of the season.

City lost out through a penalty shoot-out defeat to Arsenal on Sunday evening, as Mikel Arteta’s side won the first piece of silverware on offer this season in claiming the FA Community Shield at Wembley Stadium.

Manchester City have another opportunity to start in trophy-winning fashion very soon however, as they travel to Athens to take on Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup final after beating Inter in the Champions League final back in June.
